As the season gets fully underway, and with the expectation of some fine weather approaching, the Committee is aware of concerns raised from various quarters regarding general behavioural issues both on and off the field. Recent times have seen a general decline in behaviour in recreational cricket and this is not a pattern we intend to see at our Club.
We would ask that all players take some time to read the Club Code of Conduct, Club Rules and Anti Bullying Policy, and remind you that when you sign on for the Club you agree to abide by these. In addition all adult players have a responsibility to junior players to set an example and to allow them to play cricket in a safe, inclusive and respectful environment and to allow the same respect to specatators from both sides.
In the main we are very pleased with how our teams represent Winchcombe Cricket Club both on and off the field, and if you have concerns about opposition language and behaviour (or indeed that of any of your team mates) raise this with your Captain at the time. The Club reserves the right to take disciplinary action against any player who is deemed to bring the Club into disrepute by displaying consistently poor behaviour.
Be mindful of the reputation Winchcombe Cricket Club, an organisation which is over 120 years old and which holds a special place in the hearts of our members and friends, past and present, to whom it has brought, and continues to bring, joy, companionship, solace, lifelong friendships and a continued and mutual love of this beautiful game of cricket.
Thank you
